  1. i own a 1997 spx which is basicly the same machine. it is great. it will litterly jump out of the water into the air when gassed from a dead stop. bounces around alot in choppy water but in smooth water it feels like your on glass. best power to weight racio ive ever seen. i also own a 2005 yamaha fx ho and it cant be compared to the spx as far as fun goes and the spx will dust from a dead stop anyway. i would not reccomend riding douvle or pulling anything on the spx because it is so small. it tends to be a little tipsy and sit really deep in the water when idoling with two people aboard. it is very cold-natured so give it time when first starting up. i belive the top speed to be between 54-60 mph which is plenty fast. great machine.

  2. I know it is on the older side but why go new when 1999 runs fine compared to the 3 seater that take for ever to get started up? No problems whatsoever. This means you can wipe and turn jump waves. I am big and I got two feet of air!

  3. I love this machine and would not trade it for any other. This machine has great get up and go and will dominate any other machine out of the holeshot. It's lightweight, great for jumping waves out on lake michigan and the horsepower to weight ratio is second to none.

  4. This machine is the top dog!!! Of all the skis I have tried, this one has the best ratio to horsepower to weight available, 110hp at 440LBS. Check out specs on all other skis and you will see what I mean. This ski from dead stop will completely leap out of the water when you floor it. Trim down for great cornering, trim up for 360's and wave jumping. Due to its comparatively lightweight, this is the best wave-jumper I have ever ridden. At high speeds, it is a little wild, shifting back and forth when hitting chopping water, yet that is what makes the thrill of the ride. Top speeds probably range from 56-60mph. I also own the newer XP limited 130hp and this one is a lot more fun to ride. A++++ Machine.
